A minute in advance…

A minute in advance…

I’m back in Chicago after ten days of conferences in Denver. The trip was long and challenging, mostly because it was so long. The good news is that it was a wonderful success!

The principle that drove our planning and execution of these two exhibitions was a minute of preparation in advance is worth an hour of on-site work.

Using that rule of thumb we were able to:

  • Ship fewer books reducing shipping costs and returns.
  • Sell more books by staging new releases well and curating titles with a track-record of conference performance.
  • Set up and tear down in record time resulting in high team morale.

I had a great team of colleagues who made this possible and I’m great for their hard work.
