I’m back in Chicago after ten days of conferences in Denver. The trip was long and challenging, mostly because it was so long. The good news is that it was a wonderful success!
The principle that drove our planning and execution of these two exhibitions was a minute of preparation in advance is worth an hour of on-site work.
Using that rule of thumb we were able to:
- Ship fewer books reducing shipping costs and returns.
- Sell more books by staging new releases well and curating titles with a track-record of conference performance.
- Set up and tear down in record time resulting in high team morale.
I had a great team of colleagues who made this possible and I’m great for their hard work.
