When I spoke in the law school last week, I had two main points:
1. that it is possible for you (as a Christian law student) to flourish in the study and practice of law and, more than that, it is possible for you to flourish in life. It is possible because of the Gospel.
2. The Gospel provides our fundamental point of orientation, our ‘true north’ (so to speak). It provides our orientation to God, to ourselves, to others, to the world, to our culture and to our vocation.
In short, what I hoped to say was: “For those of us who are followers of Christ, Christians, the Gospel is not only a mechanism for making us right with God but an ordering principle for all of life.”
