From what I’d heard, I knew I wanted to read the book. I wasn’t prepared for the sticker shock. The hardcover cost $25. I generally don’t buy hardcovers, but I made an exception because the book wasn’t in the library and, hey, it sounded intriguing.
Over the next several weeks, I’ll be making my way through the book and reflecting on Norris’s discussion of acedia (malaise) and depression all in the context of her life as a wife, mother, and writer. Stay tuned.
