[Video post] How to have a spiritual retreat

October 24, 2012 — Leave a comment

I was fortunate to spend 48 hours in silence and solitude last week in the foothills near the Virginia state line. While I was there it occurred to me that virtually no one I know (outside of ministry–it’s pretty rare there too) actually practices an intentional spiritual discipline of retreating. As a result, I wrote a post about why I think you should practice retreat regularly.  You can read it here.

This week, I’d like to share with you how to have a spiritual retreat. This isn’t a history of retreats, it’s not an exhaustive treatment of retreating. It is simply how I tend to practice the discipline. I hope you enjoy and find it helpful for your own walk with Christ.
