The most difficult things in leadership present the best opportunities
Very few people like to wait. Even fewer like to be kept waiting. And while it’s true that strong leaders have a bias for action, there is such a thing as premature execution.
Any action designed to move an organization forward, but that omits a necessary and unpleasant stage of that process is, in my opinion, premature.
Successful forward motion happens when difficult issues are addressed. They may not be able to be resolved completely, but they can be addressed. Absent that difficult work, it’s unlikely that real change can happen.
